Gemini 7 in orbit: On December 15, 1965, the McDonnell Aircraft Corp's Gemini VII, with astronauts Frank B. Furley and Thomas P. Stafford aboard, circled Earth. Meanwhile, 160 miles (257 km) above, Gemini VI, piloted by Wally Schirra and Thomas P. Stafford, also orbited. This marked the first rendezvous in space. From Gemini VI, they captured a stunning view of Earth, a sight later echoed by the Apollo 10 astronauts. The Gemini-Titan 7 spacecraft continued to make history in Earth's orbit.
