The image, displayed at the Royal Air Force (RAF) Museum, beautifully captures a scene of hardworking individuals engaged in the traditional practice of harvesting Norfolk reed for thatching purposes. In this snapshot of rural life, we witness a group of people diligently working together amidst vast fields adorned with golden reeds. Each person plays a crucial role in this labor-intensive process, carefully cutting and gathering the long stems that will later be used as roofing material.
